Lintasarta Reveals Investment Strategy Amid Weak Rupiah

The strengthening US dollar against the rupiah has not deterred PT Lintasarta from continuing to invest in the digital infrastructure sector. However, the company affirmed that investments will be made selectively, taking into account customer needs and potential returns. Lintasarta President Director & CEO Armand Hermawan stated that the company will not disburse large investments without careful calculation. According to him, Lintasarta will invest in infrastructure and services that are genuinely needed by customers and have clear business prospects. “When it comes to investment, it is certainly related to infrastructure. We won’t invest heavily while the return is still unimaginable. So if an investment has returns, an investment that is truly needed by customers, we will continue to make it,” Armand said during a Media Gathering in Jakarta. Armand assessed that the weakening of the rupiah due to the rising dollar does not necessarily mean customers will stop spending on technology that has a significant impact on their business. He suggested companies might only adjust the scope of projects rather than halt technology investment entirely. “We don’t yet know if this rising exchange rate will stop them from buying applications with a huge impact. Just because the rate is high, will they stop buying cybersecurity? I don’t think so. But perhaps the scope will be reduced,” he explained. Consequently, Lintasarta has ensured it will continue investments related to customer needs, industry requirements, and regulatory demands. Nevertheless, the company will implement its investment strategy cautiously. “Our investments will be made carefully and in relation to customer needs, industry needs, and also regulatory needs,” Armand said.
