Lintasarta Introduces Bandwidth on Demand for Banking Digital Infrastructure
Lintasarta has introduced its Bandwidth on Demand (BWoD) solution to address the banking sector’s need for more flexible digital infrastructure. This solution enables banks to adjust bandwidth capacity in accordance with their operational requirements.
BWoD was introduced during the Lintasarta Executive Dialogue, themed ‘Mastering Digital Infrastructure in the Intelligent Banking Era Through Bandwidth on Demand (BWoD)’, held in Jakarta on Thursday (10/09). The forum brought together leaders from national and multinational banks belonging to HIMBARA, PERBANAS, and ASBANDA, as well as officials from Bank Indonesia and the Financial Services Authority (OJK), alongside the board of directors of Lisingtarta.
President Director and CEO of Lintasarta, Armand Hermawan, emphasised that banking digitalisation does not only demand large capacity. According to him, the banking industry also requires infrastructure support capable of moving quickly to follow rapid changes in business needs.
“Digital infrastructure is not enough to merely have large capacity; it must be able to adapt quickly, flexibly, and in a measurable manner,” Armand stated in a written release on Monday (14/09/2026).
Armand added that banking capacity can fluctuate during month-end, year-end closing, payroll processing, disaster recovery, application launches, or unscheduled conditions. Therefore, connectivity needs to evolve from fixed infrastructure to something more adaptive.
This transformation needs to be supported by four key capabilities: Agility in responding to change, Scalability in adjusting capacity, Resilience in maintaining reliability, and Readiness to face peak events, disaster recovery, and regulatory demands.
Through BWoD, following the initial setup process, subsequent bandwidth changes can be performed independently via ULTIMA without manual ordering or new installations. Capacity can be adjusted based on subscribed services, with support of up to 1,000 Mbps on certain tiers.
“We want to provide agility to banks to manage connectivity capacity according to their operational needs,” said Armand.
BWoD is one of the implementations of Lintasarta Intelligent Core, which integrates customers, the ULTIMA Super App, the Intelligent Core Engine, and the core network into a process that supports real-time execution and autonomous decision-making. This approach allows connectivity management to be conducted more quickly and automatically.
In its initial phase, BWoD is available in 84 cities across Java in 2026, with coverage expanding gradually towards a national scale. This innovation strengthens Lintasarta’s commitment as a digital infrastructure partner for banking, providing connectivity that is more adaptive to business needs.
Member of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) for the 2022-2026 period, Sophia Isabella Wattimena, emphasised the importance of strengthening technological infrastructure to support banking digital transformation. This step is vital to ensure all banking service systems remain secure and stable.
“Digital transformation in banking must go hand-in-hand with the strengthening of technological infrastructure capabilities. Reliability, security, risk management, and the ability of infrastructure to support industry needs are becoming increasingly important,” concluded Isabella.
