A survey conducted in 2025 revealed that 53.9% of Indonesian youth feel pessimistic about the country’s political and economic conditions, driven by job uncertainty, financial pressure, and political dynamics. This sentiment prompted Arif Utomo, Founder of the leading riding apparel brand Respiro, to launch ‘Lintangnusa’, a new movement designed to spread optimism across the nation.

After a year of preparation, Lintangnusa has emerged as a collective movement. Its mission is to foster a positive movement and spread optimism to advance Indonesia, realised through a long-distance two-wheeled journey covering a route of 1,945 kilometres. The journey spans eight provinces, from the western tip of Java to East Nusa Tenggara.

In this extraordinary journey, Lintangnusa carries a concrete mission to celebrate the spirit of Indonesia’s Independence Day while supporting the future of education for Indonesian children. Representing the significance of 17 August, two resilient riders will travel to distribute 17 Indonesian flags (Merah Putih) and CSR aid packages containing school supplies, such as books and stationery, directly to students in 17 primary schools. This initiative serves as tangible support to stimulate the spirit of learning and combat educational decline in regions along the route, including Banten, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

The mission is supported by Castrol as the main sponsor. As a leading global lubricant brand, Castrol has demonstrated a deep commitment to contributing actively to Indonesia’s progress through impactful social action. Yohan Liutama, Brand & Product Lead at Castrol, stated during the Opening Ceremony that the company aims to inspire optimism and mobility that benefits Indonesian society.

The expedition is undertaken by two riders: Aldea Henry, a Brand Advisor for Respiro Indonesia and a Safety Riding Expert from Honda Daya Adicipta Motora, ensuring the highest riding safety standards, and Arian Helltrust, a professional photographer and videographer specialising in documenting Indonesian landscapes and human stories. To face the challenges of extreme weather and terrain, the riders are equipped with specialised technical riding jackets from Respiro, designed for maximum protection and comfort in Indonesia’s tropical climate.

Ayi Sunandar, Head of Business at Respiro Indonesia, added that the 1,945 km distance and the 17 flags across 8 provinces are symbols of a commitment to weaving optimism from western to eastern Indonesia. Through the distribution of flags and stationery, Lintangnusa aims to convey a message to the next generation that distance is not a barrier to achieving their dreams. Lintangnusa also aims to serve as a platform for brands that wish to contribute positively to Indonesia.
