Lindskog captures Volvo Masters title

KUALA LUMPUR (Agencies): Sweden's Stephen Lindskog triumphed
at the US$250,000 Volvo Masters of Malaysia on Sunday after
surviving a three-way play-off at Kota Permai Golf and Country
Club.

The 32-year-old Lindskog, who is Nigerian by birth but was
adopted by Swedish parents when he was a child and lived in
Jakarta, holed a seven-footer at the second extra hole to pip
overnight leader Anthony Kang of Korea and Japan's Shinichi Akiba
to the $40,375 winning check.

It was Lindskog's first victory on the Davidoff Tour after
winning the 1999 qualifying school.

"I haven't realized what I've done yet. I've got to go home
and wake up tomorrow morning to realize what I've achieved," said
Lindskog, who carded a final round 71 for a 10-under-par 278
total.
