Limousin Cow Resists Tethering, Falls into 3-Metre Ditch in Bogor

A Limousin cow resisted being tethered to a tree along Jalan Alternatif Cibubur in Cileungsi subdistrict, Bogor, West Java, and fell into a 3-metre-deep sacrificial animal waste disposal pit.

‘When the cow was being tethered to the tree, it struggled and fell into a 3-metre-deep sacrificial animal waste disposal pit,’ said Bogor Regency Fire and Rescue Chief Yudi Santosa on Wednesday, 27 May 2026.

The incident occurred around 2:30 AM. Santosa stated his team responded within five minutes of receiving the report from locals.

‘The cow’s owner contacted the Cileungsi Fire and Rescue Sector to request evacuation assistance,’ he added.

Officers arrived promptly and began the rescue operation, which took two hours to complete.

‘The situation is now stable, with the cow successfully rescued after a two-hour operation,’ he concluded.
