Lieutenant General Robi Herbawan Appointed Head of TNI's Strategic Intelligence Agency
TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto has carried out promotions and transfers within the TNI across all three branches. Several strategic positions have undergone changes as part of organisational dynamics.
According to information obtained by Republika, the positions of Head and Deputy Head of the Strategic Intelligence Agency have seen shifts. Republika has attempted to confirm this with TNI Information Centre Head Major General Aulia Dwi Nasrullah. However, as of the publication of this article, no response has been received.
Among those promoted is Lieutenant General Robi Herbawan, who now serves as Head of the TNI Strategic Intelligence Agency (Kabais). Robi has taken over the position vacated by Lieutenant General Yudi Abrimantyo. A 1994 Military Academy graduate, he previously held the role of Head of the Defence Intelligence Communication and Information Agency (BIK Intelhan) at the Ministry of Defence.
In a photo obtained by Republika, Robi was already wearing his three-star rank while attending the TNI Unit Commanders’ Roll Call at the National Defence University in Sentul, Bogor Regency, last week. The roll call was attended by Indonesian President General (Retired) Prabowo Subianto, who provided guidance to 1,500 TNI personnel from all three branches.
Thus, Robi has become the definitive Head of TNI Bais. Notably, Robi has a close relationship with the President, having served as his aide during Prabowo’s tenure as Commander and Deputy Commander of Kopassus from 1995 to 1998.
The changes also affect the TNI Information Centre Head position, shifting from Major General Aulia Dwi Nasrullah to Brigadier General Muhammad Nas. Both Aulia and Nas are 1998 Military Academy graduates. Nas, currently serving as Intelligence Assistant to the Kostrad Chief of Staff (Asintel Kaskostrad), has been promoted to two-star rank.
Aulia is reportedly set to take up the position of Deputy Head of TNI Bais. When contacted regarding the news, he did not respond to Republika’s questions.
