LHOKSEUMAWE: Three Indonesian Military (TNI) soldiers were
sentenced to four months and 20 days in jail after being found
guilty of assaulting Acehnese civilians in Lawang village,
Bireuen. Another four soldiers were also on trial on the same
charges.

SOUTH ACEH: Two GAM members were killed in Durian Kaway village,
North Klut district, when TNI raided the village.

BANDA ACEH: Police arrested four local human rights workers and
two volunteers with the Indonesian Red Cross for alleged links to
GAM, according to the Aceh Legal Aid Institute.
