LHKPN a Form of State Official Transparency to the Public

Visioner Indonesia is urging the public to respond to information regarding the State Officials’ Wealth Report (LHKPN) of Southeast Sulawesi Governor Andi Sumangerukka (ASR) objectively and proportionally. Secretary General of Visioner Indonesia, Akril Abdillah, stated that the LHKPN is a transparency instrument required of every state official. Therefore, changes in the asset values within the report should be understood as part of a public official’s openness to the community, rather than being immediately interpreted as something negative. “The LHKPN is a manifestation of a commitment to transparency. When all assets are reported openly to the KPK, it demonstrates compliance with applicable regulations. The public certainly has the right to supervise, but assessments must also be made fairly and based on complete facts,” Akril said on Thursday (16/7/2026). According to him, the increase in wealth value listed in the LHKPN can be influenced by various factors, ranging from asset additions, changes in investment value, legitimate transactions, to changes in the market value of owned assets. All of these are verifiable through mechanisms regulated by the KPK. He also appreciated the consistency of Governor ASR, who has demonstrated his commitment to government integrity, including his statement to donate his salary and various official facilities to support education for underprivileged communities. “This commitment shows that Mr Andi Sumangerukka’s leadership orientation is not only on physical development but also on human resource development. Steps like these deserve appreciation as a form of concern for the future of Southeast Sulawesi’s generation,” he said. Akril added that ASR’s leadership has also been assessed as focused on accelerating infrastructure development, improving public services, strengthening investment, and programmes that provide direct benefits to the community. “We believe the people of Southeast Sulawesi are increasingly astute in responding to various information. Therefore, we invite all parties to uphold the principle of presumption of innocence, respect the applicable legal mechanisms, and not rush to build conclusions that are not based on the results of an examination by the authorised institution,” concluded Akril.
