LG Electronics Expands AI-Powered WashTower Laundry Machine Market in Indonesia
LG Electronics is looking to expand the market for its LG WashTower washing machine in Indonesia, with Sunter, North Jakarta as the chosen location. Various innovations were presented.
As the name suggests, the WashTower is a washer and dryer with a vertically stacked design that is already supported by artificial intelligence (AI).
As of March 2026, this integrated laundry device has recorded cumulative sales of more than 3.2 million units in 77 countries since its initial launch in 2020.
In detail, cumulative sales exceeded 1.6 million units in North America, 160 thousand units in Latin America, and more than 130 thousand units in Asia. This is what has made LG Electronics aggressive in marketing the WashTower in Indonesia.
According to the Product Marketing Manager of Living HS at LG Electronics Indonesia, Ratih Nadiah, the WashTower has three models, namely the WT1410NHEG, WT2117NHB, and the latest WT2520NHBA series, which comes with a 25 kilogram washer capacity and a 20 kilogram dryer capacity.
Not only highlighting the more compact placement dimensions that provide efficiency in laundry room layout, through the AI Wash feature, the LG WashTower is able to work by optimising drum movement, water temperature, and optimal washing duration for various fabric materials.
The AI Wash-based development she mentioned refers to the AI DD technology embedded in the LG WashTower. On the other hand, AI DD technology also makes the machine work more efficiently mechanically, thereby helping to extend the machine’s service life.
To provide optimal washing results, AI DD is able to adjust the washing pattern based on the weight and type of fabric, while Smart Pairing automatically connects the washing programme with the appropriate drying programme.
Clothing cleanliness is also better maintained thanks to Steam technology which helps reduce dust, mites, bacteria, and allergens. On the other hand, TurboWash 360° is able to shorten washing time through high-pressure multi-directional water sprays.
All of this convenience is further complemented by LG ThinQ which allows remote operation via smartphone. Users can start, monitor, and set the washing cycle anytime and from anywhere, providing greater flexibility in daily activities.
On the dryer side, according to Ratih Nadiah, the Dual Inverter Heat Pump technology inside the LG WashTower is able to dry clothes maximally without any help from sunlight at all.
