Lexus NX 450h+ F Sport: A Quiet Yet Responsive Driving Experience
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The 1,300-kilometer journey from Jakarta to Yogyakarta and back as part of the Electrification Journey Festival 2026 provided an opportunity to experience the driving characteristics of the Lexus NX 450h+ F Sport in various road conditions.
From the start of the journey, the most noticeable impression was the quietness of the cabin. When the battery was sufficient and the car was running in electric mode, there was almost no noise or vibration entering the cabin.
This condition proved very helpful when dealing with traffic congestion or driving at low speeds.
In terms of performance, the combination of a 2.5-liter petrol engine and an electric motor with a system output of 304 hp provides a light and responsive acceleration character.
The power boost feels instant as soon as the accelerator pedal is pressed, especially when extra speed is needed for overtaking on the highway.
Although the weight is close to two tons and uses an e-Four all-wheel drive system, the power delivery feels linear and easy to control. Responsive!
There is no excessive aggressiveness, but it is strong enough to provide confidence in various situations.
During the long journey, comfort was also supported by the Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) which is standard on the F Sport variant. When driving at a constant speed on the highway, the car feels stable and firm.
While when passing over concrete joints, asphalt waves, or uneven road surfaces, the suspension is able to dampen vibrations well.
The use of 20-inch wheels does not make the ride feel too hard. The suspension character remains balanced between stability and comfort, so it does not tire the body even when used on long journeys.
For a mid-size luxury SUV, the handling of the NX 450h+ also feels easy. The steering wheel has the right weight and a natural response, while body roll, I think, is still within reasonable limits when changing lanes or passing through long curves on the highway.
The long-distance journey also felt easier thanks to the support of the Lexus Safety System+. Features such as Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Lane Tracing Assist help maintain distance and vehicle position in the lane, especially when driving at a constant speed on the highway.
Its intervention feels smooth and unobtrusive, making it comfortable to use for long periods.
Overall, the driving character of the NX 450h+ F Sport feels very balanced. It still maintains the comfort and quietness typical of Lexus, but combined with responsive power and stable handling.
In real-world use, this combination makes long journeys more relaxed, less tiring, and still enjoyable behind the wheel.
