Level Crossing Barrier Not Closed, Truck Nearly Hit by Brantas Train

A railway crossing guard at Simpang Mengkreng, Purwoasri District, Kediri Regency, is alleged to have fallen asleep as the Brantas train was passing. As a result of the incident, the level crossing barrier was not closed, causing a truck to nearly be struck by the train. The accident was prevented because residents at the location took the initiative to stop the flow of vehicles. PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daop 7 Madiun confirmed the event and stated that the officer concerned has undergone coaching in accordance with applicable regulations.
