Lesson to learn from Lion Air
Lesson to learn from Lion Air
From Republika
A lesson that we all can learn from the crash-landing of Lion
Air JT 538 at Adi Sumarmo Airport in Surakarta on Nov. 30, is
that Indonesia's aviation community must prioritize flight safety
and security to ensure that every flight will be comfortable. It
is when a flight hits a disaster that the significant role of
cabin crew will be really felt. Cabin crew members are
professionals responsible for the comfort of the passengers while
they are on board a plane. This comfort is based on flight safety
and security.
In this respect, we all must pay attention to these points:
* Every passenger must always observe the regulations printed on
the tickets, read the announcement and understand flight
directives given by the front liners, particularly the cabin
crew.
* Indonesia's flight cabin crew must always improve flight
security and their own security awareness, the two things that
will be reflected in their performance of their duties as
professionals.
On this occasion, we, the Board of Patrons of the Indonesian
Federation of Air Cabin Crew (FAKUI) would like to extend the
highest appreciation to the cabin crew of Lion Air JT 538 in
charge when the accident occurred. Your great dedication to your
duties as professional cabin crew, particularly as cabin safety
guards, should be held up as a model for fellow cabin crew
members.
