Jakarta (ANTARA) - The pioneer and market leader in the luxury goods pawn sector, PT Lesca Gadai Premier, assures the security of assets and confidentiality of customer data for the company.

In line with this, the company has simultaneously achieved two international certifications: ISO 9001 for Quality Management Systems and ISO 27001 for Information Security Management Systems.

“We want to eliminate the subjective ‘bargaining’ stigma in the pawn world. Through this quality certification, every item entering Lesca Gadai Premier is appraised using scientific methodology and real-time market data,” said Director of Lesca Gadai Premier, Bastian Purnama, in an official statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Bastian explained that the company uses the latest technology instruments and expert staff with international certifications to ensure that the appraisals set are the most competitive and fair in the market.

The ISO 9001 certification guarantees that the entire workflow, from customer reception, asset appraisal processes, to storage management, operates under strict and consistent Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

In the luxury goods industry, Bastian explained that appraisal accuracy is everything, where a small mistake in identifying the authenticity of a rare watch or designer bag can have fatal consequences for the company’s and customer’s reputation and finances.

The certified SOPs include multi-layered inspections, serial number verification with global manufacturer databases, physical condition checks using digital microscopes, and validation of supporting documents.

“This ensures that customers receive the maximum redemption value in line with the market price of their assets,” said Bastian.

Meanwhile, the achievement of ISO 27001 places the company among the elite non-bank financial institutions with cybersecurity standards equivalent to international banking.

For premium customers, privacy is often more valuable than the transaction amount itself. They need assurance that information about their valuable assets, redemption amounts, and personal identities will not leak to the public or unauthorised parties.

“In the digital era where data breaches are a real threat, ISO 27001 is our promise to customers that their privacy is an absolute priority,” he said.

The company implements high-level data encryption systems and information risk management that is audited periodically.

“Our customers, who are mostly public figures, collectors, and major entrepreneurs, can transact with peace of mind without worrying about their security profiles being threatened,” said Bastian.

The implementation of ISO 27001 includes physical access controls to data storage rooms, protection against cyber attacks, and regular staff training on information integrity.

“This provides an extra layer of protection rarely found in conventional private pawn companies,” said Bastian.

In addition to data security, Bastian assured that the company is also strengthening the physical asset preservation infrastructure.

“Luxury pawned goods are not simply stored in a warehouse, but placed in special vault facilities (safe deposit boxes) equipped with automatically controlled temperature and humidity settings,” said Bastian.

According to him, this effort is very important for exotic leather bags or mechanical watches that are highly sensitive to environmental changes.

“We realise that for collectors, these items are investments. Therefore, we are committed to keeping the items in pristine condition. When the items are returned to customers after repayment, their condition must be exactly the same or even cleaner thanks to the light maintenance services we provide during the storage period,” said Bastian.

Armed with trust from the ISO achievements, Lesca Gadai Premier projects transaction volume growth of 25-30 per cent year-on-year (yoy) in 2026.

On the other hand, the company is in the final stages of launching the White Glove Service in Surabaya and Medan, which allows customers to conduct transactions from the comfort of their homes or offices with personal security escorts and professional appraisers coming directly to the location.

“Our vision is to make Lesca Gadai Premier the most trusted financial lifestyle partner in Southeast Asia. We want to prove that an Indonesian local company can meet global quality and security standards in serving world-class customers,” said Bastian.

Meanwhile, Senior Economist at Prasasti Center for Policy Studies, Piter Abdullah, views Lesca Gadai Premier’s steps as part of the global trend in Luxury Asset-Backed Lending.

“This certification is a smart strategy to build trust in a very exclusive segment,” said Piter.

He stated that Lesca Gadai Premier’s adoption of ISO 9001 and 27001 shows that Indonesia’s luxury goods pawn industry has levelled up. This phenomenon indicates a convergence between pawn services and wealth management.

“For wealthy customers, pawning luxury goods is no longer a sign of financial difficulty, but a portfolio optimisation step. This certification automatically raises the barrier to entry and forces other private pawn industries to improve their standards if they want to remain relevant to premium customers,” said Piter.
