JAKARTA – KOMPAS.com reports that repairs to a sunken road in Lenteng Agung, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, are ongoing as of Monday (1 June 2026). KOMPAS.com’s on-site observations show repairs are still being carried out on both sides of the road, causing it to narrow. According to a Jakarta Provincial Natural Resources Agency (SDA) officer who wished to remain anonymous, excavation work is currently being conducted on the right side of the road. The excavation process is interspersed with the installation of reinforced concrete box culverts, using an excavator. Once the culvert installation is complete, concrete pouring will follow. “Concrete pouring will begin tonight, though traffic congestion is currently severe,” the officer told KOMPAS.com on site Monday. The road repairs have caused a 2.5-kilometre traffic jam from Universitas Pancasila Station towards Depok, West Java. Traffic congestion has occurred as the excavator repeatedly crosses the road to retrieve concrete box culverts for installation. However, joint teams from the Transportation Agency, PPSU, and SDA are on standby to manage traffic, ensuring drivers take turns when passing the repair site. As previously reported, the Lenteng Agung main road towards Depok subsided on Thursday, 28 May 2026, at around 10:30pm WIB. The damage created a 3-metre-deep, 16-metre-long hole in the road.
