The Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) has stated that the reopening of Lenteng Agung Road in the southbound direction towards Depok cannot be carried out according to the original schedule of 05:00 WIB. The reopening has been postponed and will be conducted gradually as underground drainage repair work is still ongoing.

The Head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency, Budi Awaluddin, stated that the reopening will take place in stages starting Tuesday morning. The lane adjacent to the railway tracks is targeted to open at 08:00 WIB, while the lane on the other side is expected to open around 11:00 WIB.

“We understand that this situation impacts the mobility of residents passing through the Lenteng Agung area. Therefore, we apologise for the delay in reopening the road and urge the public to adjust their travel times and use the prepared alternative routes,” said Budi, as quoted on Tuesday.

Budi explained that additional time is required to ensure that the repair process is completed safely and optimally before the road is returned to public use. According to him, the safety of both workers and road users is the priority in handling the site of the road subsidence.

According to information from the Jakarta Water Resources Agency (SDA), the delay in completing the work occurred because the process of closing and sterilising the area only began on Monday at 14:00 WIB. Once the location was confirmed to be safe and clear, repair work could proceed in full from 16:00 WIB.

“The safety of workers and road users is the top priority. Therefore, all stages of the work must be carried out according to procedure so that the repair results are safe and can be reused by the community,” he said.

The Jakarta Transportation Agency is currently coordinating with the Water Resources Agency to accelerate the completion of the work. Several officers remain stationed around the location to manage traffic and assist drivers diverted to alternative routes.

Authorities urge the public to follow the directions of officers on the ground and monitor the latest information through official government channels. Updated information regarding the full reopening of Lenteng Agung Road will be communicated to the public periodically.

Lenteng Agung Road towards Depok has been temporarily closed since Monday afternoon to support underground drainage repairs following a road subsidence in the area. The closure has caused traffic to be diverted to several alternative routes around Jagakarsa and Pasar Minggu.
