Lenteng Agung Road Towards Depok Temporarily Closed – Alternative Routes Advised
Motorists regularly travelling from Jakarta to Depok via Lenteng Agung Main Road must adjust their journeys from 14:00 on Monday, 1 June 2026 to 05:00 on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.
The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency has temporarily closed the Lenteng Agung Main Road section heading from Jakarta to Depok from 14:00 on Monday, 1 June 2026 to 05:00 on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.
The closure supports underground channel repair work being carried out by the DKI Jakarta Water Resources Agency, part of efforts to fix a sunken road.
The underground channel repair is critical as Lenteng Agung Main Road is a major corridor connecting South Jakarta and Depok with high daily traffic volume.
“We apologise for the inconvenience caused. The closure of Lenteng Agung Main Road heading south towards Depok will take place from 14:00 on Monday, 1 June 2026 to 05:00 on Tuesday, 2 June 2026,” said Budi in a statement on Monday, 1 June 2026.
During the closure, traffic towards Depok is expected to congest at several points around Lenteng Agung and Pasar Minggu. Drivers are advised to use alternative routes to avoid long queues.
For vehicles from Pasar Minggu heading to Depok, one alternative is via Tanjung Barat Road, then into Moch Kahfi Road in Jagakarsa, exiting towards Citayam or Depok.
Another alternative is via TB Simatupang Road to the Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR) toll road, then exiting at Cijago or Desari tolls for those heading to Depok and surrounding areas.
Motorcyclists can use alternative routes via Jagakarsa, M. Kahfi Road, Srengseng Sawah Road, or the University of Indonesia area to access Depok.
The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency urges the public to heed temporary traffic signs, follow on-ground officers’ instructions, and adjust travel times to avoid congestion during the works.
Although lasting around 15 hours, the closure is expected to significantly impact mobility for South Jakarta and Depok residents. Drivers are advised to plan alternative routes before departure to ensure smooth travel.
