Lenteng Agung Road to Depok Fully Closed for Sinkhole Repair Work

The Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub DKI Jakarta) has implemented traffic management measures following the temporary closure of Lenteng Agung Main Road to Depok from Monday (1/6) at 2 PM until Tuesday (2/6) at 5 AM. The full closure is necessary to support repairs to damaged underground channels that caused the road to sink.

Dishub DKI Jakarta Head Budi Awaluddin urged the public to adjust their travel routes and use alternative paths to avoid traffic congestion around the worksite. ‘We apologise for the temporary closure of Lenteng Agung Main Road to Depok from today, Monday 1 June 2026 at 2 PM until Tuesday 2 June 2026 at 5 AM. The closure is to facilitate underground channel repairs by the Water Resources Agency,’ Budi stated during a site inspection on Monday (1/6).

To anticipate traffic jams, Dishub DKI Jakarta has mapped out alternative vehicle routes based on vehicle type and origin. To ensure smooth traffic management, the agency has deployed personnel at strategic points, particularly around the Lenteng Agung Horseshoe area and Pancasila University roundabout.

‘We have officers on-site to guide residents to alternative routes and urge the public to follow traffic officers’ instructions for everyone’s safety,’ Budi said. In addition to personnel deployment, Dishub DKI has installed seven information banners at strategic locations—five along the Depok corridor and two in the Lenteng Agung area—to provide early information to road users.

The Jakarta Provincial Government has ensured intensive inter-agency coordination to complete the underground channel repairs by the Water Resources Agency on schedule. The public is advised to plan travel times wisely and prioritise road safety.

Repair work on the sinkhole along Lenteng Agung Main Road to Depok in South Jakarta is being expedited following a further drop in the road surface. A waste transport truck from the South Jakarta Water Resources Sub-District (Sudin SDA) fell into the sinkhole.
