Lenteng Agung Road to Depok Closed as Jakarta Implements Traffic Management Measures
The Jakarta Provincial Government has closed the southern section of Lenteng Agung Road towards Depok from Monday, 1 June 2026, at 2:00 PM WIB until Tuesday, 2 June 2026, at 5:00 AM WIB. This is in response to a road subsidence incident at the location. The closure is to support underground channel repair works by the Water Resources Department (SDA). Budi Awaluddin, Head of the Jakarta Provincial Transportation Department (Dishub), apologised to the public for traffic disruptions during the repair process. “The closure is to support underground channel repairs by the Water Resources Department,” Budi said after inspecting the site on Monday, 1 June 2026. Dishub has deployed officers at various points to assist the public and ensure smooth traffic flow during the works. Officers are stationed at Tapal Kuda and the Universitas Pancasila roundabout to guide drivers towards pre-arranged alternative routes. “We have deployed officers around the site to direct residents to alternative routes. We also urge the public to follow on-ground instructions for everyone’s safety,” Budi added. As part of public awareness, Dishub has placed seven information banners at strategic points. Five banners are along the corridor towards Depok and two at Lenteng Agung to provide early notice of the temporary closure to road users. The Jakarta Provincial Government continues to coordinate with relevant agencies to expedite repairs and minimise the impact on public mobility. “The public is advised to plan travel times, use available alternative routes, and prioritise safety when passing near the worksite,” Budi said. Traffic diversion measures during the works are as follows:
