Lenteng Agung Road Subsides, Traffic Diversion Enforced Until June 12

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Dishub DKI Jakarta has implemented traffic diversion on Jalan Raya Lenteng Agung in South Jakarta during road repair works from May 29 to June 12, 2026. The traffic management was put in place after a section of the road on the eastern side of Jalan Raya Lenteng Agung, specifically in front of Gang Empang, collapsed on Thursday evening (May 28, 2026). The information was announced by Dishub DKI Jakarta via their official Instagram account @dishubdkijakarta. “Road users are advised to comply with traffic regulations and prioritise road safety,” stated Dishub DKI Jakarta. Head of South Jakarta’s SDA Sub-District Office Santo said there is an old drainage channel, or honk, under Jalan Raya Lenteng Agung measuring approximately three metres wide and six metres long. “Indeed, under Jalan Raya Lenteng Agung, there is a PHB (connecting channel) crossing of UI consisting of an old honk (drainage channel) with a width of about three metres and length of about six metres,” Santo said on Friday. According to him, field surveys were conducted a day before the road collapse worsened. Heavy machinery has been deployed, and the damaged drainage section will be covered with steel plates approximately 25mm thick. “Emergency handling today, Friday, May 29, 2026, heavy machinery has been deployed to the site and the collapsed drainage channel will be covered with steel plates approximately 25mm thick,” Santo said.
