Progress on repairing the road subsidence in Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta, has reached 70 per cent. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government aims for the road to be fully operational for vehicles by early next week.

‘Insha’Allah, by early next week, the main lane will be fully passable for all vehicles without significant lane narrowing,’ stated Chico Hakim, Special Staff to the Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta for Public Communication, to reporters on Monday, 1 June 2026.

Chico said his team would complete roadbed repairs and concrete pouring within three days, with total repair costs of Rp380 million and an estimated two-week timeline.

‘We are pushing to have the main road operational by early next week,’ he added.

‘There are still temporary restrictions for final concrete pouring and cleaning, but the team is working urgently to restore smoother traffic flow,’ he continued.

Previously, Iwan K Santoso, Assistant for Economic and Development Affairs of South Jakarta Administrative City, said the road subsidence repairs are at 70 per cent. He noted that on the third day of work, four large PLN cables posed an obstacle.

‘The box culvert installation is 90 per cent complete, with only one remaining. The repair is currently about 70 per cent due to upcoming concrete pouring and road cleaning,’ said Iwan K Santoso to reporters at the site on Sunday, 31 May 2026.
