Lenteng Agung Road Subsidence Repairs Begin Tonight with Partial Lane Closures
The subsided Lenteng Agung Main Road has been reopened to traffic as of Friday (29 May 2026) afternoon, but permanent repairs are still pending. Head of the Jagakarsa Subdistrict Water Resources Unit (SDA), Sartono, stated the road was reopened around 3.30pm WIB with temporary measures in place to alleviate congestion. “Thankfully, by around 3.30pm the temporary repairs focused on easing traffic congestion have been successful. This is only a temporary fix,” he said on-site Friday afternoon.
Temporary repairs involved backfilling the subsided section with soil and stones, followed by a 25-millimetre steel plate layer to ensure smooth vehicle passage. Permanent works will commence Friday night with the installation of a 2-metre box culvert. Traffic management will be implemented during the installation, with alternating lane closures. “No full closure, only alternating lane closures,” Sartono explained.
The works are scheduled to start at 9pm WIB on Friday and are expected to take two to three days. “Box culvert installation will begin tonight and may take up to two or three days,” he said. Sartono urged the public to be patient and supportive during the repairs, which will impact traffic flow.
