The road repair process for the collapsed road in Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta, is ongoing. The Jakarta Water Resources Agency (SDA) has installed box culverts at the collapse site. Monitoring on Sunday (31 May 2026) showed the box culverts were in place, with water flow now smoother than yesterday after installation. Piles of excavated soil are visible on the left side of the road. Officers are currently digging a drainage channel on the left before the collapsed section, with one excavator still on site. Morning traffic conditions show no lane narrowing; all lanes towards Depok are open despite barriers on the right side. Steel plates remain over the collapsed area, with drivers slowing down when passing. Deputy Head of South Jakarta SDA, Santo, previously stated the repairs are being expedited, with the main road expected to be fully operational within three days. “For the main road structure, we’re pushing to complete it within three days. Yes, normal vehicle passage will resume, meaning traffic will no longer be congested,” Santo said on Saturday (30 May). Santo explained that the focus is now on completing work from upstream to downstream over a 10-metre stretch. The box culverts are being installed to channel water from the UI connection channel (PHB) to the Ciliwung River. He added that full repairs are estimated to take two weeks due to manual stone revetment work on both sides of the road, which cannot use machinery or prefabricated materials because of utility cable and pole constraints. “Why does the side work take two weeks? Because it’s stone revetment. The box culverts are prefabricated, so just installation. But the revetment has to be manually assembled. We can’t use box culverts here due to utilities,” Santo said.
