Lenteng Agung Road Collapses on Depok Route, Causing Severe Traffic Congestion

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Severe traffic congestion occurred in the Lenteng Agung area of South Jakarta after a section of road above a drainage channel collapsed on Thursday evening (28 May 2026). The incident immediately caused congestion on the route from Pasar Minggu to Depok. Sartono, Head of the Jagakarsa District Water Resources Office (SDA), stated that the road collapse happened around 10:30pm. The collapse led to severe traffic congestion in the Lenteng Agung area, with vehicle queues stretching up to the Tapal Kuda flyover and reportedly nearing Tanjung Barat Station. This has slowed traffic, particularly during morning rush hour, and drivers heading from Depok to Jakarta are advised to seek alternative routes to avoid congestion. To mitigate risks and ease traffic, authorities have implemented traffic management measures by closing part of the affected road. Officers remain on site monitoring the road structure to prevent further collapses.
