REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Lenteng Agung main road towards Depok collapsed on Thursday evening (28 May 2026), causing traffic jams as two lanes became impassable. Local resident Junaedi, 50, said the road had been sinking for several days, with many road users thrown off when crossing the area in Srengseng Sawah village, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta. “The road has been sinking for the past few days,” he said at the scene on Friday (29 May 2026). The condition has persisted for at least two days, with several residents reporting the issue to officials but no action taken. Junaedi said a road user had fallen into the sinkhole, sustaining injuries. “Yesterday, someone fell in,” he said. He noted the road fully collapsed on Thursday around 11pm, engulfing two lanes. After the collapse, a motorcyclist was also reported to have fallen in on Saturday morning after riding against traffic. “Someone fell in this morning. He was going the wrong way,” Junaedi said.
