Lenteng Agung Road in South Jakarta, heading towards Depok, has been closed due to underground channel repairs by DKI Jakarta’s Water Resources Agency (SDA).

The closure follows a road collapse that swallowed two lanes, which began on Wednesday, 27 May 2026.

DKI Jakarta Provincial Transportation Agency Head Budi Awaluddin stated the temporary closure will run from 2 PM on Monday, 1 June 2026 until 5 AM on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.

“We apologise for the temporary closure of Lenteng Agung Road towards the south or Depok starting today,” Budi told reporters on Monday, 1 June 2026.

“The closure is to support underground channel repairs by the Water Resources Agency,” he added.

He explained that the Transportation Agency has deployed officers at Tapal Kuda and Pancasila University’s roundabout to manage traffic during the works.

“We have officers stationed around the area to guide residents to alternative routes. We also urge the public to follow on-site officers’ instructions for everyone’s safety,” Budi said.

Additionally, the agency has placed five banners on roads towards Depok and two in the Lenteng Agung area to inform residents about the closure.

Traffic diversion routes are as follows:

  • Traffic from Pasar Minggu heading to Depok will be diverted via Lenteng Agung Road, making a northbound U-turn at the JPL 23 railway level crossing or Pancasila University roundabout, then proceeding to Moch. Kahfi II Road, Tanah Baru Road, and so on.

Alternative route: vehicles can turn around at the Tapal Kuda roundabout in front of the Jakarta Institute of Social and Political Sciences (IISIP), then pass through Lenteng Agung Road, TB Simatupang Road, Kebagusan Raya Road or Cilandak KKO Road, and proceed to Moh. Kahfi I Road and beyond.

Residents can also take TB Simatupang Road, Bogor Raya Road, UI Access Road, and so on.

  • Heavy vehicles from Tanjung Barat heading to Depok will be directed via Jagorawi Toll Road or Desari Toll Road.
