JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Police have confirmed no traffic diversion or management measures are in place following the road sinkhole on Lenteng Agung Main Road in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, from Thursday evening (28 May 2026) until Friday morning. South Jakarta Traffic Police Chief Kompol Mujiyanto stated that vehicles can still pass through one lane heading towards Depok. “Based on on-site information, there is currently no diversion or traffic management in place as one lane towards Depok remains passable,” Mujiyanto told reporters in Jakarta on Friday, as reported by Antara. Coordination is underway to prepare alternative routes, deploy personnel, and manage traffic congestion around the sinkhole site. “If we deploy personnel, strengthen measures, and address potential congestion points, we will coordinate with the Transport Department for the Depok-bound direction,” he added. The sinkhole measures approximately 3 metres deep and 16 metres long, located after Empang Alley on Lenteng Agung Main Road. Consequently, traffic flow from Jakarta to Depok has become congested due to vehicles being restricted to a single lane.
