JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The South Jakarta Administrative City Government has temporarily closed the eastbound (towards Depok) Lenteng Agung Main Road from Monday (1 June 2026) at 14:00 WIB until Tuesday (2 June 2026) at 05:00 WIB.

The closure is to expedite repairs of road damage in the area.

South Jakarta Administrative City Assistant for Development, Iwan K Santoso, said the closure includes traffic management measures to maintain vehicle flow despite restrictions.

“During the road repairs, road users are advised to avoid the affected road section and adjust to the traffic arrangements, follow traffic signs, heed on-site officers’ instructions, and prioritise road safety,” Iwan said on Monday (1 June 2026), as reported by Kompas.com from the official South Jakarta City Government account.

For vehicles from Pasar Minggu heading to Depok, traffic is diverted via Lenteng Agung Main Road, then U-turn at the horseshoe roundabout in front of the Jakarta Institute of Social and Political Sciences, followed by Joe Kelapa Tiga Road, Jagakarsa Raya Road, Jeruk Raya Road, and Moh Kahfi I Road.

Alternative routes include using TB Simatupang Road to Kebagusan Raya Road or Cilandak KKO Main Road, then to Moh Kahfi I Road. Another route is via TB Simatupang Road – Bogor Main Road – UI Access Road.

For heavy vehicles from Tanjung Barat heading to Depok, they are directed via Jagorawi Toll Road or Desari Toll Road. Another alternative is via TB Simatupang Road – Bogor Main Road – UI Access Road.

Previously, the road collapsed on Thursday (28 May 2026) evening. Head of the Jagakarsa District Water Resources Agency (SDA) Sartono said the agency received reports of road damage the previous night.

“Thursday night we received information, but for SDA it’s just a hole, it’s handled by Bina Marga regarding the road,” Sartono said on Friday (29 May 2026).

The next morning, SDA and the Public Works Department (Bina Marga) conducted a survey and patched the uneven road sections to reduce risks for road users.

“Thursday morning we surveyed together, now Bina Marga is taking steps to level the uneven road to prevent vehicles from passing over it,” he said.

“Bina Marga has already patched the uneven sections and set up traffic signs. But since this is the only road, even with signs, some signs were hit, and eventually the collapse occurred overnight,” Sartono added.

He said that before repairs, several people and vehicles had fallen into the sinkhole caused by the sudden road collapse.

“With last night’s incident, we immediately began repair activities,” he said.

Based on inspections, the collapse site is above the PHB UI Canal channel leading to Ciliwung River. The preliminary assumption is that the canal structure has deteriorated due to age.
