Lenovo to Introduce Foldable Screen Handheld Gaming Concept at MWC 2026
Lenovo has been reported to showcase its latest gaming handheld device concept, the Legion Go Fold, at the Mobile World Congress 2026 (MWC 2026), which will take place from 2 to 5 March 2026 in Barcelona, Spain.
The device represents a new development in the Legion Go line, adopting a different approach through the integration of a foldable display. The Legion Go Fold currently remains in concept or prototype status and is not a commercial product ready for immediate market release.
According to reports from Business Standard, the Legion Go Fold will be equipped with a flexible POLED panel that can adjust in size according to user needs. When in the folded position, the display is estimated to measure approximately 7.7 inches, maintaining the compact form factor typical of handheld devices.
However, when fully unfolded, the screen is said to expand to 11.6 inches, providing a wider visual experience for gaming and productivity requirements. This concept allows users to enjoy two distinct experiences within a single device.
Like previous Legion Go models, the Legion Go Fold is reported to retain detachable controllers. These controllers can be attached to the sides of the display for handheld mode, or removed when the device is used in tablet mode.
Several other reports also mention that one of the controllers can function as a vertical mouse, enabling use for FPS games and other Windows-based activities.
With this design, the device is anticipated to support several usage modes:
Handheld mode
Wide-screen mode
Vertical split-screen mode
Mini-laptop mode with additional keyboard
As the device remains in prototype form, Lenovo has not yet announced final specifications, pricing, or the schedule for commercial launch. The appearance of the Legion Go Fold at MWC 2026 is regarded as an exploratory step in future design for Windows-based portable gaming devices.
The MWC 2026 event itself runs from 2 to 5 March 2026 in Barcelona and serves as a platform for various global technology companies to showcase their latest innovations.
