Lenovo reportedly exploring development of a smartphone with a 7.5-inch display
Jakarta (ANTARA) – Lenovo is reportedly exploring the development of a new smartphone that features a 7.5-inch display and support for a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. Gizmochina on Saturday (7 March) quoted a post by technology leaker Digital Chat Station on the Weibo social media platform, stating that Lenovo is testing a periscope telephoto camera with a 200 MP sensor for the next-generation phone. The tech leaker also revealed that Lenovo is developing a 1.5K-resolution LCD display panel, but the development process is progressing fairly slowly. Accordingly, the informant said Lenovo is exploring a new design approach described as a ‘big-screen design.’ As part of the experiments, Lenovo is reportedly testing the use of a flat display of around 7.5 inches. With a screen size larger than a typical smartphone, the device would resemble a small tablet. This has sparked speculation that Lenovo may be experimenting with a new device category or a dedicated device for users who want a larger screen. Digital Chat Station said the phone project is still in the early stages, with no steps toward mass production yet. The foldable phone named Motorola Razr Fold has an 8.1-inch main display with a 2K LTPO resolution and a 6.6-inch outer display, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. The device is equipped with three 50-megapixel cameras and supports the Moto Pen Ultra stylus.
