Lenovo Establishes AI Innovation Centre in Hong Kong
Hong Kong (ANTARA) - Lenovo Group has launched an artificial intelligence (AI) innovation centre in the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park, becoming one of the first major multinational companies to establish an office in Hong Kong from the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Hetao Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone. Executive Vice President of Lenovo and President of Lenovo Solutions & Services Group, Ken Wong, stated that the facility will capitalise on Hong Kong’s strengths as an international centre, integrate Lenovo’s global footprint, and collaborate with partners to expand reach into global markets. Ken added that Lenovo will continue to enhance industry-university-research collaborations, incubate entrepreneurship, nurture talent, and support Hong Kong in building itself into an international innovation and technology hub. At the launch ceremony held on Wednesday (22/4), Lenovo showcased the results of its collaborations with 30 initial partners, half of which focus on enterprise AI, office automation, and data management services. Hong Kong’s Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry in the Special Administrative Region (SAR) government, Sun Dong, said that Lenovo’s decision to build its presence in the area is not only an important strategic step for the company’s development but also a vote of confidence in the future of Hong Kong’s innovation and technology sector. Sun hopes that all parties will collaborate and seize the tremendous opportunities presented by AI, empower the entire industry through technology, and help Hong Kong play a greater role in the national “AI plus” initiative.
