Len strengthens engineering and integration capabilities for electric vehicle technology
PT Len Industri is strengthening its national electric vehicle (EV) system engineering and technology integration capabilities, which encompass battery systems, power management, vehicles, supporting infrastructure, services, and data management to ensure safe, reliable, and sustainable national electric vehicles.
President Director of PT Len Industri Joga Dharma Setiawan stated in Bandung on Monday that EV reliability is not solely determined by battery quality, but by the alignment of all subsystems from power management to infrastructure.
He explained that EV development requires a holistic engineering approach that views the vehicle as part of a broader technological ecosystem.
“Batteries cannot be treated as standalone components. The reliability of electric vehicles is also determined by how the battery, power control system, vehicle, infrastructure, after-sales service, and operational data work in harmony,” said Joga Dharma Setiawan.
Beyond technological engineering readiness, Len considers user experience—such as spare parts availability, warranties, operational reliability, and charging infrastructure—as the main determinants of public trust in EVs.
“Technology will gain public trust when it can be used safely, easily, and consistently. Therefore, engineering and service readiness must develop together,” he said.
Through strengthening system engineering and technology integration competencies, PT Len Industri aims to contribute to enhancing national technological capacity and developing Indonesia’s electric vehicle industry to be safer, more reliable, and more competitive.
