LEN operates new facility

JAKARTA (JP): State-owned PT LEN Industri will soon operate a new facility to produce traction systems, used by electric trains and locomotives, and control systems for solar power generators.

The production facilities will be located in a new 2,000- square-meter building opened last Friday in Bandung, West Java. The building is part of LEN Industri's Power Electronics Division.

According to the public relations officer of LEN Industri, Satya Sudhana, the division has set a sales target of Rp 8.4 billion (US$3.66 million), or 20 percent of the company's total sales target for this year. The division is expected to have a minimum annual growth rate of 20 percent.

LEN Industri is one of the 10 companies managed by the Management Board for Strategic Industries, which is chaired by State Minister of Research and Technology B.J. Habibie. (pwn)
