Lemkapi Appreciates Banten Police for Reduced Accident Rates During Eid Exodus

The Indonesian Police Strategic Studies Institute (Lemkapi) has expressed appreciation for the Banten Regional Police (Polda Banten) in Operation Ketupat Maung 2026. According to them, there was an increase in the number of vehicles, but a decrease in accident rates occurred.

Lemkapi Director Edi Saputra Hasibuan stated that the majority of the public, namely 94.3 percent, are satisfied with the performance of the National Police (Polri) in securing the mudik and return flows.

“As many as 94.3 percent of the public are satisfied with the performance of Polri in securing the mudik and return flows. In the jurisdiction of Polda Banten, although there was a 6% increase in vehicles and 5% in passengers, traffic accidents decreased by 58% and violations decreased by 69%,” said Edi, quoted on Friday (17/4/2026).

According to Edi, the decrease in accidents is an effect of the reduction in traffic violations. This condition made the mudik run smoothly.

“The traffic accident rate has decreased, accompanied by a reduction in the number of violations, indicating an increase in public awareness in driving, thus making traffic flow smoother without queues,” he explained.

Lemkapi also presented the Presisi Award, which was given at the Banten Police Headquarters on Thursday (16/4). Lemkapi gave this award for the dedication and loyalty of the Traffic Directorate of Polda Banten in serving the public during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr mudik.

“This award is for all personnel of the Traffic Directorate of Polda Banten who have worked with dedication in serving the public,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Traffic Directorate of Polda Banten, Senior Commissioner Arief Kurniawan, stated that the award serves as a trigger and motivation to continue providing the best service to the public.

“This award becomes a trigger and motivator for us to continue providing the best service to the public,” he said.

Arief expressed thanks for the award given to the Traffic Directorate of Polda Banten.

“We thank the Lemkapi side for paying attention to our hard work by giving an award for the success of the implementation of Operation Ketupat Maung 2026,” he said.
