Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Governor of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas), Ace Hasan Syadzily, said that Indonesia’s involvement in the International Stabilization Force (ISF) established by the Board of Peace is proof that the world greatly relies on Indonesia in creating peace in Gaza, Palestine.

Furthermore, Ace noted that a TNI officer has been appointed as ISF Deputy Commander, giving Indonesia a significant role in the conduct of operations.

“This demonstrates that Indonesia is regarded by the Board of Peace as a highly important country holding a key position in the context of creating stability in the conflict between Palestine and Israel,” Ace said at the Lemhannas office in Central Jakarta on Monday.

According to Ace, the Indonesian Government must seize this opportunity to make greater contributions towards creating peace in Gaza.

Beyond international political considerations, Indonesia can also take direct action by deploying 8,000 peacekeeping personnel to the Gaza border area, namely Rafah.

There, Indonesia and other ISF forces can take direct action to create peace by carrying out humanitarian missions.

Ace also acknowledged that the move has invited considerable debate among the public, drawing both support and opposition.

Despite the controversy, Ace expressed confidence that Indonesia’s involvement in the ISF is the right step towards achieving a peaceful situation in Gaza.

“Indonesia is demonstrating concrete steps, not merely empty talk, in its efforts to achieve peace and push for Palestinian independence through real action,” Ace affirmed.
