National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas) Governor TB Ace Hasan Syadzily received Mulawarman University Rector Abdunnur on Tuesday, 15 September.

During the meeting, the rector thanked Lemhannas for planning a Lemhannas Goes to Campus event at Mulawarman University on Tuesday, 22 September 2026. The event is expected to strengthen students’ national character.

Ace said the programme was Lemhannas’ response to the importance of reinforcing national values among young people.

“What needs to be strengthened at present is Generation Z. They interact extensively through gadgets and are digital natives,” Ace said.

He said young people today were highly vulnerable to losing sight of their identity and existence as Indonesian citizens. National values therefore needed to be reinforced continuously.

He also said that, amid a global climate of competing narratives, students needed the discernment to assess and select information.

Ace added that threats could come from foreign powers intervening through people’s ways of thinking. Lemhannas therefore considered it essential to continue reinforcing national values among young people.

The Lemhannas Goes to Campus event at Mulawarman University will invite university rectors from across East Kalimantan, and will not be attended solely by Mulawarman University students and academic staff.

“This is a vision as a rector to strengthen national values,” he said.

Ace was accompanied at the meeting by Lemhannas Deputy Governor Vice Admiral Erwin S Aldedharma; Principal Secretary Commissioner General of Police Gatot Tri Suryanta; Deputy for the Consolidation of National Values Major General Raden Djaenudin Selamet; and Director of Socialisation and Media for the Consolidation of National Values Brigadier General of Police Syahril Saharda.
