Lemhannas Governor Explains Purpose of DPRD Chairmen's Retreat
A total of 396 participants attended the retreat for DPRD Chairmen throughout Indonesia at the Military Academy in Magelang on Thursday, 16 April 2026. The participants consisted of DPRD Chairmen from Provinces, Regencies, and Cities across Indonesia, along with officials from the Association of Regency DPRDs throughout Indonesia.
Lemhannas Governor Ace Hasan Syadzily stated that DPRD leaders play a crucial role in guiding and realising Asta Cita at the regional level. For him, the DPRD is not merely a bearer of legislative, budgeting, and oversight functions.
“But also a guardian of harmony between national interests and local aspirations. A strategic role that determines whether development can proceed in alignment or become fragmented,” said Ace in an official statement from Lemhannas on Thursday, 16 April 2026.
Ace said that amid the current geopolitical influences, DPRDs must be capable of formulating and supporting the grand design of national development. Every budgeting decision, regulation, and oversight must be directed and able to make a real contribution to the future of the nation and regional communities.
“Able to bridge central and regional policies, weave cross-sector collaboration, and ensure that development proceeds inclusively and justly,” Ace stated.
He said the purpose of this event is to build synergy between the central and regional governments, as well as to shape perspectives, reaffirm national commitment, and strengthen the role of DPRD leaders in realising the ideals of Golden Indonesia 2045.
Ace hopes that this event can tighten collaboration and cooperation among the attending DPRD leaders. It also aims to align regional policies with the Asta Cita of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
“So that the goal of Golden Indonesia 2045 through the Asta Cita foundation can be realised,” said Ace. The event carries the theme “Strengthening the Role of Provincial/Regency/City DPRD Leaders to Support Asta Cita Towards Golden Indonesia 2045”.
In the Prabowo Subianto administration era, several retreats have been held for officials. Among them are retreats for ministers of the Red and White Cabinet and retreats for regional heads.
Previously, Chairman of the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation (YLBHI), Muhammad Isnur, assessed that regional head retreats increasingly show the strong militarism within the Prabowo administration.
Instead of equipping regional heads by attending retreats at the Military Academy, Prabowo could test their nationalism and vision alignment by directly monitoring the work of regional heads in the field.
