Lemhannas Assesses MBG Programme as Beneficial for Community Economy
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Governor of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas), Ace Hasan Syadzily, assesses that the free nutritious meal (MBG) programme not only impacts the nutritional recovery of the nation’s children but also triggers the rotation of the economic wheel in society. This was stated by Ace based on a study conducted by Lemhannas on the MBG programme. “We are convinced that with the MBG programme, this can actually serve as a stimulus for economic growth in society,” said Ace during a press conference at the Lemhannas office in Central Jakarta on Saturday. According to Ace, this economic rotation occurs because all MBG raw materials come from micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) managed by the community. He assesses that UMKM source raw materials from local livestock breeders, farmers, and fishermen to meet the needs of MBG side dishes. If this activity continues on a massive scale, Ace believes society will feel a significant economic impact from MBG. “Certainly, in its operational process involving various parties, the central government acts as the leading sector through BGN,” he said. Ace hopes the MBG programme can continue to run throughout Indonesia to achieve President Prabowo’s aspirations of forming superior human resources and economy in Indonesia.
