JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Cimahi Police Traffic Unit predicts a surge in vehicles heading to Lembang tourist area in West Bandung after Eid al-Adha 2026. To anticipate traffic jams during the long holiday, police are preparing situational traffic management measures. Cimahi Police Traffic Unit’s Operations Sub-unit Chief, Inspector Bayu Subakti, said that community mobility patterns during Eid al-Adha differ from typical long weekends. On the holiday, people tend to stay home with family. He added that the potential increase in vehicle volume is due to Eid al-Adha coinciding with Pancasila Day long weekend on 1 June 2026, which is expected to boost tourism in Lembang and surrounding areas. To ease congestion, the Cimahi Police Traffic Unit has prepared a partial one-way traffic scheme (CB One Way Sepenggal) at several congestion-prone points. ‘To manage congestion, we usually implement partial one-way traffic. However, its application depends on ground conditions and which points are most crowded,’ said Bayu. He explained that the partial one-way scheme is applied selectively on specific road sections to speed up traffic flow without closing main routes. The tourist routes prioritised for security during the long holiday period include Colonel Masturi Road, Beatrix Intersection, and Cikole area. Meanwhile, Bandung Barat Regent Jeje Ritchie Ismail anticipates an increase in tourists during the long holiday. ‘It seems there will be more visitors due to the extended break. We hope this has a positive impact on Bandung Barat, given the many popular tourist destinations here,’ said Jeje. He added that several Lembang tourism site operators are preparing by increasing staff and managing vehicle flow within the attractions.
