Lembang Residents Hurl Tomatoes in Rempug Tarung Perang Tomat Tradition

Residents pelted each other with rotten tomatoes during the Hajat Lembur Festival Perang Tomat 2026 in Kampung Cikareumbi, Lembang, West Bandung Regency, West Java, on Friday (26/6/2026). The community held the Rempug Tarung Perang Tomat tradition, throwing rotten tomatoes at one another as a symbol of discarding bad things, negative energy, and bitterness of the heart, while also expressing hopes for a better life and improved agricultural yields. Some participants wore knight-style costumes for the event.
