Lembah Anai Access Now Open 24 Hours, Recovery Progress Reaches 73 Percent
PT Hutama Karya Infrastruktur (HKI) has recorded that post-disaster recovery progress in the Lembah Anai area reached 73 percent as of the end of May 2026, with all works targeted for completion by July 2026. Access through Lembah Anai is now fully open 24 hours a day for both two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles, restoring the strategic Padang–Bukittinggi link.
Key works already completed include water diversion, river normalisation, road embankment protection, borepile works at several affected points, road embankment backfilling, slope reinforcement, drainage works, and foundation protection for the Margayasa Bridge. With these major tasks finished, HKI is now focusing on completing supporting structures, slope treatment, road pavement, drainage, and road safety works.
HKI Corporate Secretary Resnu Aditya Wuladarman stated that the acceleration of completion is being carried out while maintaining quality and safety. “HKI continues to strive to accelerate the completion of the Lembah Anai recovery while prioritising safety aspects, work quality, and smooth public mobility. With a number of major works now completed, HKI is focusing on finishing 20 work points with scopes such as supporting structures, slope treatment, road pavement, drainage, road safety works, and hotmix asphalt,” Resnu said on Monday (22/6).
Resnu added that the full 24-hour opening of Lembah Anai access has also driven an increase in traffic volume through the area, particularly during long holiday periods. “With the full reconnection of Lembah Anai access, mobility in West Sumatra can proceed more smoothly. This section plays a vital role as a strategic connecting route, so HKI is committed to completing the recovery by July 2026 so that the benefits can be optimally felt by the community,” Resnu continued.
