Legless Body Found in Depok, Suspected Mutilation Victim

A mutilated human body with no legs was found in Pancoran Mas, Depok, on Tuesday, suspected to be a victim of mutilation. The discovery began when a witness, Herni, saw a sack at the location on Friday, but assumed it contained rubbish.

“The witness, Herni, saw the sack on Friday and thought it was just rubbish, so she didn’t suspect anything,” said Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police Public Relations Head, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, on Tuesday.

Another witness, Muhammad Rizkywan, intended to burn the sack on Tuesday afternoon around 3:30 PM local time. When the sack melted, he saw a human body inside and immediately reported it to the local Community Police officer.

“The crime scene investigation revealed the victim was found without clothes, both hands were tied with white cloth, and both legs were missing from the thigh down. There was also an open wound on the neck, and the body was placed inside a rice sack wrapped in black plastic,” Budi explained.

The body has been evacuated to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital in East Jakarta for a post-mortem examination. Police are currently investigating the case to identify the victim and the perpetrator.
