Legislators should repent
Legislators should repent
From Warta Kota
I wholeheartedly agree with some of the protest rallies rejecting the price hikes. These rallies should go on until the government and the country's leaders become aware of the problems and decide to reduce the fuel prices, as they will certainly spur other prices of goods to soar.
Do the leaders and those currently in power care to listen or empathize with people's sufferings? The problem is that members of the House of Representatives do not serve in their capacity as public representatives or defenders of the people anymore. They have forgotten that it was the people who elected them. Enjoying a comfortable position and various privileges, these legislators have no desire to listen to people's aspirations.
Most of the representatives are blind and deaf to the people they represent. Just look at how the government has increased the prices of all basic necessities. Why does it continue to call for price hikes despite the public's outcry and protest? It is because the government and its representatives are enjoying an easy life and have neglected the people. They let people scream. Where is the integrity of these leaders? They should be setting good examples for people to follow. Unfortunately, they are accumulating wealth, practicing corruption and participating in the rat race.
Where is peace and justice for the public if the leaders continue to do these things? Remember that those who are always on alert are more fortunate than those who forget easily. Therefore, leaders, please repent before Almighty God shows His fury.
Doesn't God always listen to the cries of His suppressed people? Leaders should always defend poor people. Repent now before it's too late.
