Legislator Views Avenged Sevenfold Concert as Having Economic Impact
Jakarta - A member of Commission C of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Hardianto Kenneth, views the Avenged Sevenfold concert as part of a grand vision to establish Jakarta as a primary destination on the global tour map for international musicians, which is believed to impact the creative economy sector.
“Global-scale concerts like this are not merely entertainment, but an economic catalyst. The impact will be felt directly in the creative economy sector, from event organisers, production, to local creative workers,” said Kenneth in Jakarta on Wednesday.
According to him, these economic effects will extend to various supporting sectors, including increased hotel occupancy, growth in culinary turnover, and economic activity around the venue, namely Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) and the Jakarta region in general.
From a fiscal perspective, Bang Kent - his familiar nickname - continued, the concert has the potential to increase DKI Jakarta’s Regional Original Revenue (PAD) through entertainment, hotel, and restaurant taxes.
In addition, the utilisation of JIS as an international concert venue is also seen as capable of strengthening Jakarta’s image as a global city ready to host large-scale events.
“This is an important step in building the positioning of DKI Jakarta as a competitive international event destination capable of attracting investment and large-scale activities in the future,” said Kent.
Furthermore, Bang Kent stated that the use of JIS as an international concert venue demonstrates Jakarta’s infrastructure readiness to compete with other global cities.
Therefore, he urged the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to fully support the event, both in terms of regulation, security, and comfort.
“With optimal management, the Avenged Sevenfold concert at JIS is hoped not only to be a music performance, but also a symbol of Jakarta’s continuously developing and competitive creative economy strength,” said Kent.
The concert by the American band will be held on 10 October 2026 at JIS, North Jakarta.
According to Ravel, the initiative to bring Avenged Sevenfold has been underway since early 2025. At that time, he said, Bang Kent actively pushed for the realisation of the concert through a series of strategic discussions, from mapping market potential, analysing international music concert trends, to formulating a performance concept relevant to current audience expectations.
This approach also included evaluating the success of various previous concerts handled by Ravel Entertainment, including high ticket sales, strong fan interactions on social media, and the loyalty of the Avenged Sevenfold fan community in Indonesia.
This combination of factors is seen as providing a strong foundation in convincing promoters regarding the commercial prospects and long-term impact of the concert.
Ravel emphasised that the decision to bring Avenged Sevenfold to Jakarta is not only due to the band’s popularity, but also the readiness of the domestic concert industry.
He views Indonesia as now having infrastructure, audience, and production capacity that is increasingly mature.
“The encouragement and conviction brought by Bang Kenneth have further strengthened our decision to realise this concert,” revealed Ravel.
