Legislator urges women to transform life's challenges into impactful works
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Novita Hardini has urged all women in Indonesia to transform life’s challenges, both social and economic, into works that can provide strength to others.
This call was delivered at the TGX Women Summit 2026 event, which also marked the launch of the book ‘Bising dan Hening’, a collaborative work by female survivors chronicling their life journeys, inner struggles, and processes of rising from various life trials.
‘Sometimes in life, the only one capable of advising us is ourselves. When experiences are written down and read back years later, those writings can become the best advice for our future,’ said Novita in her statement in Jakarta on Sunday.
The founder of UPRINTIS Indonesia explained that the book serves as a symbol of how life’s struggles can be turned into works that empower others.
The book is hoped to become a medium for reflection as well as a safe space for women to voice experiences that have long been difficult to express.
In the forum, packaged through inspirational workshops, the woman known for her activism in women’s empowerment invited Indonesian women to ignite the flame of positive struggle as energy for change amid increasingly complex social and economic dynamics.
The TGX Women Summit 2026, initiated by Novita, serves as a collaborative space for women, young people, and creative economy actors to kindle optimism and strength in facing modern life’s challenges.
‘Until 2026, Indonesian women still face many unfavourable barriers across various layers of society. Therefore, I invite all women to ignite the flame of positive struggle to navigate their respective lives,’ she stated.
According to her, the resurgence of women in every household plays a strategic role in maintaining family resilience while strengthening society amid various pressures of the times.
She stressed that women’s empowerment efforts must be tangible, not just in discourse, but through creative spaces and capacity building.
In addition to the book launch, the TGX Women Summit also featured screenings of documentaries and animations by young filmmakers from Trenggalek who have achieved national recognition.
Novita noted that many creative talents from Trenggalek develop outside the region. Therefore, she is committed to creating a creative ecosystem space so that young people can create from their home areas.
Looking ahead, she plans content creator training programmes through workshops and bootcamps with national media industries to strengthen the local creative economy sector.
‘I want to accommodate young talents from Trenggalek so that their works are born and grow from the region itself, whether through books, films, or creative content,’ she affirmed.
The TGX Women Summit 2026 is not merely a symbolic celebration of Kartini Day but a real movement to build collaborative spaces for women and the younger generation through literacy, creativity, and region-based creative economy.
Through this event, the woman who has received several national awards as an inspirational female figure hopes that more Indonesian women will dare to speak out, create, and become drivers of social change.
‘Today’s Kartinis are those who dare to rise, dare to create, and dare to bring hope to their surroundings,’ said Novita.
