Legislator urges PKB cadres in Situbondo to be responsive to public complaints

Situbondo (ANTARA) - Chair of DPR RI Commission VI, Anggia Ermarini, has urged cadres of the National Awakening Party (PKB) in Situbondo Regency, East Java, to be responsive to public complaints arising from the impacts of global geopolitical uncertainties in the Middle East.

“All PKB cadres must be present among the people, listen to their aspirations, and provide solutions amid the increasingly uncertain global geopolitical situation,” she stated while attending the PKB Situbondo DPC congress in Situbondo on Saturday (4/4) evening.

Anggia Ermarini emphasised to PKB cadres at the legislative level (DPRD) and executive level (Situbondo Regency Government) to take an active and prudent role in addressing economic turbulence, particularly fluctuations in fuel oil (BBM) prices resulting from global geopolitical shocks in the Middle East.

“Geopolitics does not stop there (Middle East), but its impacts will enter our homes; for example, if war breaks out there, fuel prices might rise, and PKB cadres must respond to this prudently,” said the Chair of the PKB DPP for Economy, Finance, Investment, and Capital Investment.

Meanwhile, Chair of the PKB Situbondo DPC, Ali Yafi Mughni, stated that the congress agenda did not directly appoint a new chair but instead gathered candidate names proposed by PKB PACs from 17 sub-districts.

The candidate names or prospective Chair of the PKB Situbondo DPC will then be submitted to the PKB DPP for further selection.

“The determination of the new chair is the authority of the PKB DPP, and the candidate names will undergo fitness and propriety tests,” said Ra Yafi.

The four candidates emerging from proposals by PKB PACs from 17 sub-districts are Ali Yafi Mughni (PKB DPC Chair), Johantono (Situbondo DPRD member), Mahbub Junaidi (Situbondo DPRD Chair), and Yoyok Mulyadi (East Java Provincial DPRD member).

Observations indicate that the PKB Situbondo DPC congress, from the reading of the rules according to DPP PKB provisions to the plenary session, proceeded in accordance with the mechanisms set by the DPP PKB.

The PKB Situbondo congress was also attended by Situbondo Regent Yusuf Rio Wahyu Prayogo, Deputy Regent Ulfiyah, and several party leaders.
