Legislator Surya suffers stroke in Beijing
BEIJING: Chairman of the House of Representatives (DPR)
Commission V Surya Darma Ali suffered a stroke on Monday and is
currently undergoing medical treatment in a hospital in Beijing,
China.
Surya's condition was not available last night.
Presidential Medical Doctors chief Koenindro said a team of
Chinese medical doctors were still examining Surya's health
condition in the hospital.
Surya, a legislator from the Muslim-based United Development
Party (PPP), is a member of President Megawati Soekarnoputri's
entourage visiting China, South Korea, North Korea and India.
He suffered a stroke when he was visiting China's Great Wall
with a number of DPR members.
According to House Commission I Chairman Ibrahim Ambong, who
traveled to the Great Wall, Surya had been complaining of chest
pains before visiting the Great Wall. -- Antara
