Legislator inspects drainage canal construction in West Jakarta

Jakarta - Jakarta DPRD member Hardiyanto Kenneth inspected the construction of a drainage canal aimed at strengthening the residential drainage system on Jalan Taman Ratu Indah, Kebon Jeruk District, West Jakarta, on Friday.

“This inspection is a form of oversight regarding the implementation of infrastructure development that meets the needs of the community,” Kenneth stated in Jakarta on Friday.

He noted that the construction of the drainage canal was a proposal and aspiration from the community, collected during the second recess of the second session of the 2024-2025 legislative period for the 2025 fiscal year. Consequently, he checked the readiness of the work, the alignment of implementation with technical plans, the quality of materials used, and identified potential obstacles that might arise during the construction process.

Kenneth emphasised that the construction of the drainage canal is a priority to improve the quality of the drainage system in the Kebon Jeruk area. According to him, community aspirations expressed during the recess must be realised through development programmes that provide tangible benefits and address the long-standing issues faced by residents.
