Jakarta (ANTARA) - A member of the House of Representatives’ Legislation Body (Baleg) DPR RI, Daniel Johan, hopes that the Domestic Workers Protection Bill (RUU PPRT) can be approved for enactment at the plenary session on Tuesday (21/4) after being discussed for 22 years.

The RUU PPRT has entered the final discussion stage. Baleg held a working committee meeting for the problem inventory list (DIM) of the bill at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday.

“We are very focused on the RUU PPRT to provide legal certainty and guarantees for domestic workers. This bill also pays attention to ensuring that domestic workers receive vocational training from the central and regional governments,” said Daniel, as stated.

Baleg has received 417 DIMs for the RUU PPRT from the government.

The details are as follows: 204 fixed DIMs, six new substantive DIMs, 10 substantive change DIMs, 52 editorial change DIMs, 18 deletion DIMs. For the explanatory section, there are 54 fixed DIMs, 16 new substantive DIMs, 55 editorial DIMs, and one deletion DIM.

After receiving these DIMs, Baleg began level I discussions.

The approval was taken at the 16th Plenary Session of the DPR RI for the IV Session Period of the 2025–2026 Session Year at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, after representatives from each political party faction presented their views.

“Does the Baleg DPR initiative bill on the Protection of Domestic Workers (PPRT) receive approval to become the DPR RI proposed bill?” said the Speaker of the DPR RI, Puan Maharani, while banging the gavel to signify approval.
