Legislator Calls for Total Evaluation of MPR Quiz Judging Mechanism
JAKARTA - A member of the House of Representatives Commission X, Habib Syarief Muhammad, has voiced his concern regarding an incident that occurred during the final of the Four Pillars Quiz Competition in West Kalimantan.
Habib Syarief has called on the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) to promptly improve the judging mechanism for the Four Pillars Quiz Competition.
“The difference in judging the same answer from two participants indicates that the judging mechanism needs a total evaluation. We hope this will be the last incident,” said Habib Syarief in his statement on Tuesday (12/5/2026).
The judging system must be objective, fair, and transparent to maintain the competition’s credibility.
“In accordance with the implementation guidelines, the committee should monitor every stage. Post-selection evaluation is important to identify shortcomings and provide improvement recommendations so that errors in hearing or juror perception do not occur,” he stated.
The politician from the National Awakening Party (PKB) proposed two technical breakthroughs in the judging process.
He also suggested that all competition sessions must be recorded with good audio-visual quality.
These recordings would serve as authentic evidence that can be replayed if there are protests from participants.
“If there is a debate, the audio recording can be replayed. This is important for the accountability of the judging,” he said.
