A member of the House of Representatives’ Commission I, Slamet Ariyadi, has declared full support for the National Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor) in thoroughly investigating three suspected corruption cases currently under public scrutiny. He urged that anyone involved be processed legally without discrimination.

“We fully support Kortastipidkor Polri’s steps to thoroughly investigate every alleged criminal act of corruption. Whoever is involved must be processed based on evidence and applicable legal mechanisms, without favouritism. The principle of the rule of law must be the main guideline,” Slamet said in a statement on Friday (10/7/2026).

As a member of Commission I of the House of Representatives, which oversees defence, foreign affairs, communications, and intelligence, Slamet also called on all state institutions to respect the ongoing law enforcement process. This includes, he said, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), which is a highly professional state defence institution.

He expressed hope that all law enforcement ranks would respect the principle of civilian supremacy and support the legal process according to their respective duties, functions, and authorities as stipulated in legislation.

“Inter-agency synergy is crucial so that the legal process can run independently, objectively, and without intervention, because eradicating corruption is the shared responsibility of all elements of the nation,” he stated.

Slamet also stressed the importance of all law enforcement institutions maintaining professionalism. “Therefore, all state institutions need to maintain professionalism, uphold the constitution, and respect the authority of law enforcement officials in carrying out their duties,” Slamet said.

Furthermore, he expressed hope that the investigation, inquiry, and prosecution processes for the cases being handled could proceed transparently and accountably, producing legal certainty that reflects a sense of justice for the public.

“Public trust will grow when the law is enforced fairly, professionally, and free from intervention. Let us together safeguard the integrity of state institutions and oversee the eradication of corruption for a cleaner and more just Indonesia,” he added.

Police are currently undertaking a series of legal enforcement actions related to several major cases. One of these involved a search of a café in Cipete, South Jakarta, which is suspected to be linked to several cases, including alleged coal corruption that caused blackouts in Sumatra.

The Head of Public Relations for the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Budhi Hermanto, stated that the search was conducted jointly with the Kortastipidkor Polri team. The case has also drawn the direct attention of President Prabowo Subianto.

“This is related to the alleged corruption behind the PLN coal blackout, ASABRI, and Krakatau Steel. This has the President’s attention. Alleged corruption cases are a focus for the Police to uncover and investigate,” Budhi said in Cipete, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (8/7).

Meanwhile, the Head of Kortastipidkor Polri, Inspector General Totok Suharyanto, mentioned that the case is being handled through a joint investigation scheme with the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Metro Jaya Regional Police. The cases under investigation include the alleged corruption in coal procurement that triggered the blackout, the ASABRI case, and alleged corruption in the debt settlement process of PT CBS to PT KNI, a subsidiary of the state-owned enterprise Krakatau Steel.

“Currently, Kortas Polri is implementing a joint investigation scheme with the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Metro Jaya Regional Police in handling corruption and money laundering cases in the legal process for the PLN BB case, then the ASABRI case from 2020 to 2025, and the alleged corruption case in the debt settlement process of PT CBS to PT KNI from 2020-2025,” Totok revealed.

The Director of Special Criminal Investigation for the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Victor Dean Mackbon, then provided a more detailed explanation regarding the objects of the cases. He confirmed that the search was related to alleged corruption and money laundering involving state officials.

“First, the alleged criminal act of corruption and/or money laundering in the legal handling process by individual civil servants or state officials in the case of PT ASABRI (Persero) and/or Jiwasraya Insurance that occurred within the jurisdiction of the Metro Jaya Regional Police during the period from 2020 to 2025,” Victor concluded.
